“The world doesn’t read the Bible; it reads Christians! ‘You are the light of the world.’” ~C.H. Spurgeon, 1873
God is Light.
God doesn’t just cause light. He is Light. Where He’s present, there’s light. Where He’s not, there’s darkness. For darkness is simply the absence of God.
As sunlight flows from the sun, Jesus flows from godly people. Faith-filled people are full of Light. They’re floodlights in a dark world. They cast light on the hope of heaven!
When I live in God’s presence I’ll look like it! Jesus will be the Light on my face. He’ll make me shine – even when life gets dark. When Jesus lives in me, He will shine through me!
Holy people shine because they’re heaven-bound: they’re happy! They expect God to make them happy. Looking to God invites Jesus to shine on them, then through them. Their hope of heaven makes them happy!
The godless are gloomy, having no hope of heaven. The faithless frown, fearing men more than God.
When God’s grace shines on me, disgrace flees from me. For light puts darkness to flight. Mercy hides my disgrace, but grace exposes His Light.
God’s grace makes the godly glitter. Jesus makes them shine: His reflection is on their faces. They’re mirrors of His mercy. They aren’t ashamed: they shine. They don’t blush: they beam.
When Jesus is in my heart, my face reflects Light – a Light that can’t be hidden.
Attack Point: Be a mirror of God’s light. Reflect His glory!

WOW!! Spurgeon nailed it. Today’s world demonstrates clearly with all the media availability how miserable people are who see no further than mankind. This is seen in all the alt gender community, the protesters of all ilk and we see the consequences of this miserable life in the attacks on Christians….even unto death as we’ve seen this week. We see it in the variety of ‘isms’ used over time to control and make all of us miserable.
God is light; his mercy and grace for His creation should be, and is, a light to we believers and we should reflect His light in us.
This makes me smile, although I don’t deserve His mercy or grace. I pray to be able to reflect this to all I meet.
Thank you for this perfect reminder for the day!!🙏
