“God’s justice and wrath are for rebels against God.” ~Robert Jamieson, 1871
God is the author of Divine poetic justice.
God is against people who rebel against Him. God rescues those who run from their sin and into His arms, but ruins those who refuse to run from sin or to Him.
Ungodly people go after the godly: they secretly plan to hurt or harm them. Rotten people are fools who form plans to ruin those who honor God. They lay out agendas to oppose those who love God. They damage people who don’t deserve it. Rotten people try to secretly ruin the righteous because they secretly hate their Righteous God.
Rotten people don’t understand God’s love or law, so they work to undermine His chosen. Like big game hunters, they make sport of those whom God saves.
But as a hunter attracts, ambushes, then arrests his prey, God uses a rotten man’s plan to ruin him. God arranges things so that the evil rotten people design destroys them. God punishes the godless with their own plans.
God ruins the rotten by confusing them: He allows them to think all is well with their plan – until it’s not. As a poet uses rhyme and rhythm to put his reader at ease, God sets a rotten man’s mind at rest, then certainly and suddenly ruins him.
Only fools make plans to oppose Heaven’s Divine Poet.
Attack Point: Don’t rebel against a God Who can ruin you. Instead, run to Him!

And true.
Babylon is falling.
Amen.
This could be straight out of today’s time, we see it happening in front of us, ‘He allows them to think all is well with their plan – until it’s not.’ How many times did we see this play out in His Word?
God’s grace of His Son is our salvation and promise! I pray to never question that fact! I do not want to be a fool, only a servant of God.
Thank you for this timely reminder!🙏
