How to Live with a Liar

Godly people love liars.
As a muddy river’s waters are an ugly sight, so godly people mourn a liar’s ugliness. Godly lips pray for liars. Godly people go to God when liars lie. They carry their lying loads to Christ, then leave them at His feet.
The godly lean on Jesus when ungodly lies are told. God listens to the prayers of saints who pray for liars. The godly want liars to be right with God: they labor in prayer for them. Godly people return love for lies: they show God’s love to liars, in spite of their lying.
Godly people fast for liars who play fast and loose with the truth. They push their plates away as they pray for them. They know putting food aside while praying provokes God to act. Fasting for liars humbles me while I plead with God for them. It weakens my grip on their offense and strengthens my hold on faith. Fasting loosens pride’s grip on me.
Fasting for liars cleanses me of self-deception and pleads with God to clean them. It heals the hurt they cause and helps me plead their case before God. Holy people meet a liar’s hate with humbled hearts.
God promises to deal with liars. That’s why godly people “stand in the gap” before God for them.
