“Sun, moon, and stars are God’s traveling preachers …” ~C.H. Spurgeon, 1869
God is always speaking. Sometimes He uses words.
God speaks loudest when He speaks without words. When God speaks without words, everyone everywhere can understand what He is saying.
All it really takes for anyone to hear God speak is to look up into the sky He created – day or night. And if I stop long enough to look and listen, the sky screams with deafening silence.
The silent sky makes the loudest case for a Sovereign God. It silently tells of His strength. The sky does what I am supposed to do: declare God’s glory. There is never a moment when it fails in its duty. Sadly, I often do.
Sometimes my words disguise God’s presence. The sky always displays it. That is why when God speaks to my heart through the skies, words are not necessary.
The effect of God’s wordless speech leaves all men without excuse. Everyone understands there is a God beyond the silent skies. Deep inside, everyone knows God made both skies and souls, and that He will hold every soul to account for what it knows.
God tells His story in silence. He sets His standard without speech. He communicates what He wants without words. And He hands down His verdict on men without voice.
God is always speaking, and sometimes He uses words.
Attack Point: If you cannot hear God, look up … then listen.

He tells us His message is proclaimed in the skies. I’ve been a sky watcher my entire life and it is amazing to watch. It’s been years now since I’ve been somewhere dark enough to see the skies that display the entire Milky Way and each night we were there, I bundled up I. The cold and just soaked in the beauty. Pictures from the countries in the Arctic circle are truly spectacular! God’s work in the heavens gives us a glimpse of His glory! I miss seeing it like in the past.
God bless you!
