Yes! God is the one who brings down in judgement and lifts up in glory. So all glory be to Him!

Hi Jana! Giving glory to God is a lesson very learn well.

Pride is a powerful problem. It keeps me from recognizing that it's impossible to brag about God when my heart is stuffed full with thoughts of me. 🤦‍♂️

I'm so grateful for God's mercy! And His patience!

It's good to see a note from you. 😉

Thank You for your encouragement!

Pride and self centeredness seem to be the most common sins for us, and most other sins appear to progress either directly or indirectly from them. My children were often considered ‘exceptional’ and I used my mantra on them because it helps prevent ‘big head’ syndrome. It goes like this: No matter how intelligent, talented and beautiful you are, always remember there are people who are more intelligent, talented and beautiful than you and there are people who are less intelligent, talented and beautiful than you. So, you must do and be the best with whatever amount God has given you. It’s typically worked for me, and both of my children. I will never forget as a child when I was very prideful and God determined that a lesson was required. Not a happy memory….

God does know our heart! ALL of it! He loves us anyway.🙏🙏

Hello! I agree with you, and I'd take it a step further: If pride is me wanting to replace God ("...and you will be like God" [Genesis 3:5]), then all of my sin is owing to pride. Ouch. 🤦‍♂️

Re: 'Big Head Syndrome.' I wonder if the mantra you and I learned as children is being taught much (or at all) nowadays. It's sad and scary that I have to wonder if it is. A truckload of evidence tells me it's not. Ouch, again. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

God loved us enough to send His Son…in spite of.🙏
