“Many can be as hot as fire in their own private matters, who are as cold as ice in things that concern God’s honor and glory.” ~Robert Cleaver (1561-1613)
God is a big deal.
I can’t make God great or good: He’s already great and good. But I can make a big deal of His greatness and goodness: because it’s already a big deal!
Holy people make God a big deal. Humble people are proud of God, not themselves. Holy people have high praise for God. Godly people are all about God’s greatness. A godly man finds pleasure in giving God glory, but a godless man finds pleasure in promoting himself.
Making God a big deal means I treat Him as the most important person in the world – I treat Him like the Person He already is. The way I live let’s others know what I think of Him. When God is the biggest deal to me, He’ll be that way all of the time, not just sometimes.
God isn’t made great when His praise is on my lips but not in my heart. Magnifying God begins in my mind, not with my manners.
Godly people aren’t content with confessing God in their closets. They’re only satisfied when praising God in a crowd, too. When Jesus is a big deal to me, I’ll want to be around others who think He is as well!
Attack Point: Make an example for others to follow – make God a big deal.

Brother, what a needed and powerful reminder. I’m especially struck by the line, “Magnifying God begins in my mind, not with my manners.” That’s rich with conviction and clarity. Psalm 34:3 says, “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (ESV)—and your words call us to do just that, not just in private but publicly and passionately. May our lives echo the reality that God truly is the biggest deal. Thank you for this stirring call to wholehearted worship!
Our strength ‘When Jesus is a big deal to me, I’ll want to be around others who think He is as well!’ This is also our greatest weakness as we are often attacked for acknowledging Jesus’ importance I. Our daily life! Thank You for the reminder! God bless all of your efforts….you are much appreciated!
